Noviral, a frontrunner in preventive healthcare solutions, announced the appointment of Mattias Bodin as the company’s new interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, Mattias is poised to steer Noviral into its next phase of growth and innovation, while fully backed by Ventures Accelerated - a consortium of C-suite leaders in life sciences.

Noviral is on a mission to improve public health and empower individuals by making screening tools more accessible for detection of substance abuse, deficiencies, and medical conditions. By innovating the pre-care pathway, Noviral seeks to offer high-quality, easily accessible, and user-friendly early-detection solutions.

Mattias has an impressive background that includes leadership roles at major companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) and Siemens-Elema, as well as entrepreneurial ventures in both large organizations and startups. As the former Managing Director and co-owner of Nortech Medical, he led the company to become the market leader in the public defibrillator business, earning the DI Gasell award for three consecutive years. His recent role as Managing Director and co-founder of Migränhjälpen showcases his ability to innovate in healthcare, transitioning from a digital caregiver to establishing a physical clinic at the Karolinska Hospital in Solna.

“Mattias brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record in driving growth and innovation in the healthcare sector,” said Alexander Kempe, Chairperson of the Board. “His vision aligns with Noviral’ s mission to develop preventive healthcare and improve patient outcomes. We are excited to have him and Ventures Accelerated support us as we work to make our screening tools more accessible for everyone.”

As CEO, Mattias will lead Noviral’ s efforts to bridge the gap between healthy individuals and patients, ultimately reducing the burden on healthcare systems while empowering users to take control of their health.

“I am thrilled to join Noviral at such a pivotal moment in healthcare,” said Mattias. “The company’s commitment to making preventive health solutions accessible resonates deeply with me. Together, we will not only elevate individual health outcomes but also contribute to the sustainability of healthcare systems.”

Mattias will serve as interim CEO for the next 9-12 months, guiding Noviral through its next growth and fund raising phase while the board evaluates long-term leadership options. Mattias extensive experience includes raising capital through multiple funding rounds and developing strong networks in the business angel and venture capital space. He also holds several board positions and actively invests in startups, in parallel to taking on executive assignments on an interim basis within his role at Ventures Accelerated.

From Ventures Accelerated, Helena Strigård, founder of the consortium, concludes that matching Noviral’ s needs with Mattias´s capabilities secures an accelerated journey ahead.

“With Mattias leadership, Noviral is well-equipped to navigate the evolving landscape of healthcare, capitalize on emerging market opportunities, and continue its mission of empowering individuals through proactive health management,” shares Helena.
