Nordic life science delegation to visit UK innovation hubs as Sweden and Britain deepen biotech collaboration

deliver welcome remarks to delegates at the Venture Roads UK kick-off event at the British Embassy in Stockholm.
A group of Nordic life science leaders will travel to the United Kingdom from 7 to 12 June as part of Venture Road UK, an initiative designed to strengthen collaboration between two of Europe’s leading life science ecosystems.
The programme connects Nordic innovation with the UK’s globally recognized biotech environments, where strong research, access to capital, and industrial scale capabilities create a foundation for growth in areas such as advanced therapies, precision medicine, and data driven healthcare.
The delegation will meet companies, investors and research organisations across the Oxford, Cambridge, and London innovation corridor, widely recognized as one of the strongest biotech clusters in the world, while also engaging with major regional ecosystems in Manchester and Edinburgh. The initiative was formally launched at a reception at the British Embassy in Stockholm on 26 March.
Venture Road UK brings together companies, researchers, investors, and industry leaders from the Nordic and British life science ecosystems to build partnerships around shared opportunities in healthcare innovation. Organized by Ventures Accelerated and Phosworks, the initiative focuses on connecting complementary strengths across the two regions and turning collaboration into concrete projects and business opportunities.
The initiative takes place within the framework of the UK-Sweden Memorandum of Understanding on life sciences, which aims to strengthen collaboration between the two countries in research, innovation, and industry. Venture Road UK shows how this collaboration is already taking shape in practice. Rather than being driven by institutions alone, the initiative is built from the ground up by companies, investors, and researchers actively seeking to work across borders.
The initiative also brings together industry partners and ecosystem organisations from both regions. Lonza participates as a partner of Venture Road UK and contributes expertise in advanced therapies and precision medicine manufacturing.

Previous editions include Venture Road California, where a Nordic delegation travelled from San Francisco to San Diego in July 2025 and met life science companies, investors and research institutions along the way. Venture Road Nordics continued the journey by bringing Californian actors to the Nordic region in December 2025 to deepen collaboration between the two ecosystems.
